The Reykjavík Suzuki School of Music (Icelandic: Suzukitónlistarskólinn í Reykjavík) was founded by the ‘cellist and Suzuki cello teacher Haukur F. Hannesson in 1988. He also became the school’s first Principal. The school is run according to the principles of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s Mother Tongue Method.

The school currently employs fourteen teachers on violin, viola, cello and piano, as well as music theory, chamber music and orchestral playing. The Suzuki teachers on staff have all received further training and passed examinations according to standards set by the European Suzuki Association.

The school’s Principal is Mary Campbell.
